I had the absolute pleasure of working with Derrick Guest, a local children's artist whose generosity and talent shone brightly at our PTO Winter Ball. Derrick donated stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces of art to each child attending the event, making the evening even more special for our community.

I showed Derrick a photo of my very first Easter with my grandfather and told him why I cherished it. Derrick listened to my story and asked if he could do a piece for me using the photo. When he completed the piece, he presented to me as a wrapped gift. I opened it and cried. The art was so beautiful. Full of color and LIFE!!! I had no idea Avery Autumn could create an amazing, endearing masterpiece from an old Polaroid photo. His art helped me through the holidays. My kids loved these as soon I showed them. They kept talking about all the colors...especially my two year old who is obsessed with monkeys. When they got done talking about all the colors they wanted to find a spot on their bedroom wall to hang them. That's when I stopped them...and that's when this turned from a gift to an experience. I told them about that each of their paintings had a story behind them and we read them together. Now they say good night to Milo and Taro before bed.

Since becoming a new mom, it's been important for me to expose my daughter to experiences that will expand her horizons. I want to spark her curiosity, keep her engaged, and inspire her to seek out more knowledge and ideas. When she saw her Avery Autumn artwork, her eyes were completely captivated. Seamless from start to finish. Instead of assuming what my 4 children would like, I allowed each of them to browse the site and select the artwork that spoke to them most. The art arrived, carefully and professionally packaged, within 1 week. Each child was thrilled to receive their beautifully framed artwork (Ovo, Taro, and 2 Flora's). The most interesting part was their reaction to the stories connected to their art! A couple kids were enamored and a couple would've preferred to write their own story! Either way, it got the kids thinking and gave me, as a mom, opportunity to dialogue about virtues that matter like bravery, kindness, and being helpful. In the future, I'd love to see more monochromatic color options that can suit a child's favorite color or bedroom decor. When I submitted a photo of my Mother for an Avery Autumn creation, I didn't know what to expect. When I received the final product, it is an 8 x 10 work of art. The details of my Mother's facial features are very realistic in wonderful detail. The background is also colorful and provides a three-dimensional look with my Mother in the foreground. I am delighted to say Avery Autumn crafted a wonderful work of art representing my Mother in rich colorful realistic detail. At family gatherings throughout the year including Holidays, we all circle back to look, admire, and appreciate this amazingly crafted creation of our Mother which brings tears of joy to our eyes.
